KOMAT participates in the Polagra fair in a much broader context than the exhibition itself, also supporting numerous fair-related events.
On the first day of the fair, the final of the WorldSkills Poland competition for young chefs took place. The competition qualifies the winner to the finals of the largest European professional skills competition EuroSkills 2020.
10 young and talented chefs were judged by a jury with excellent food experts: Iwona Niemczewska as Chairwoman, Antti Porna, Sean Owens and Evgenii Irishkin.
The judges decided about the victory of Bartosz Wicherek from Gorzów Wielkopolski. Krystian Sak took the second place. Kinga Piotrowska took the third place on the podium. The entire project was supervised by renowned chef Paweł Salamon.
The most important gastronomic competition in Poland, i.e. the Polish Culinary Cup, is inevitably connected with Polagra. KOMAT has been supporting this highly prestigious culinary competition for professionals for many years. 10 teams fought for the title of "Best of the best", whose dishes were judged by an international jury: Dariusz Struciński, Paweł Mieszała, Jean Bos, Emmanuel Lorieux, Alain Hostert, Jean Castadot and Sebastian Pettersson, Bartosz Peter - the winner of the competiton in 2017 and 2018, and also Jarosław Walczyk as the Chairman.
The jury gave the highest marks to Bartosz Fabisi and Michał Kozłowski from Nifty no.20 restaurant at the Puro Hotel in Poznań. The second place was awarded to Paweł Kuber and Paweł Żurkowski from the DeSilva Premium Hotel in Poznań. Marcin Nowak and Maciej Małecki from Puro Hotel in Warsaw came third.
During the fair, there were also Master Class Shows, i.e. shows for students of gastronomic schools. The masters of the Polish culinary sector used the KOMAT equipment: Ernest Jagodziński, Krystian Sosnowski, Artur Lenczewski, Gieno Mietkiewicz, Krzysztof Kopciński and Paweł Serafin.
